Lee Bontecou was born in 1931, Rhode Island, USA.
she was more into usage materials and representation of her works.
she created sculptural forms that hung on the wall like paintings.
materials that she mostly used were industrial and/or found materials.
she creates mechano-organic systems from man-made materials. By using the elements of nature and industry together, she brings out noble and wild side in both nature and industry. I think her works are more than just a typical example of minimalism or abstract expressionism.
